Putting on a heavy and very fake American accent, Mallika Sherawat took great delight in blowing her own trumpet through the interview

Murder babe Mallika Sherawat was seen making a boo-boo on an international platform.  From claiming that she was the first female to wear a bikini to saying that she was the first actor to kiss onscreen in Indian films– Mallika made it a point to blabber utter nonsense with that artificial twang she seems to have developed after she set up house in Los Angeles. She went on a self-complimenting spree – and we love the part when she puts her foot firmly in her mouth and starts chewing…hard!
“I was lucky to get international exposure when I was first invited to the Cannes.” We got the uncontrollable giggles when she said exposaaa. Just when we though the tomfoolery was about to come to an end, she got the concept of her film all wrong. When asked her about her next Bollywood flick The Dirty Politics, she muttered that it’s about a nurse who was raped by a politician and how she had the courage to stand up against the injustice, despite belonging to a regressive society. But in reality the film is about a midwife who got involved with a minister and blackmailed him, insisting that unless he paid her a huge sum of money, she would publicly release a CD of the two having sex, to the press. Soon after she disappeared, Bhanwri Devi’s husband accused the politician of killing his wife after raping her.  The remains, by the way, were discovered only fairly recently, but that is another story…
Watch the interview if you feel like rolling on the floor chortling. The confab wouldn’t have been even half  the fun without that messed up accent and the hodge-podge grammar. And, of course, Ms Sherawat’s astonishing ego!

 

Abhay Deol doesn’t want to be associated with Dostana 2!

Actor Abhay Deol is super miffed with the fact that he is being associated with Dharma Production’s Dostana franchise!

Abhay Deol, who is known for his eccentric roles, was reportedly approached by Karan Johar to be part of Dostana 2. However, the actor has rubbished all rumours about him being offered the film. In fact, in a recent interview with zoom, the young Deol got all garam when he was asked about all the hoopla around him being part of Dostana 2.
Without any hesitation, the actor quickly confessed that he didn’t think much of Dostana as a movie and therefore there was no reason for him to be a part of the next installment in the franchise. We are sure not many people would agree with your opinion, Mr D!
Well, that’s not just it! Abhay’s desperation to stay away from brand Dostana is so intense that he has gone a step further and asked his manager to get Dostana 2 removed from his filmography wherever it may be published. We all know that the young, maverick Deol has carved a name for himself in Bollywood by treading the offbeat path and even more so for his straight-up attitude. But we fail to understand why he is making so much of a to-do over one film.
While we totally love Abhay’s acting, we aren’t sure that taking panga with a certain Karan Johar would be the wisest thing to do, if he wants to survive in Bollywood. Wethinks AD should learn a few tricks from his older Deol brothers on how to be politically correct…not always, but at least sometimes, with some people!

 

Aashiqui 2 joins Rs 100 crore club

Mohit Suri’s musical saga is the latest to join the coveted club

Aashiqui 2, the musical love story starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor, was made at a budget of Rs 9 crore and released on April 26. Mukesh Bhatt of Vishesh Films is elated as the movie has had a successful two-month run at the box office, grossed Rs 100 crores and Bhatt says they have set a trend with the film. “I am very happy because I am the only producer who has given biggest blockbusters with newcomers… As a producer what can give me more joy than that,” Bhatt said.
Bhushan Kumar, Managing Director, T-Series, is rejoicing too. “With the blessing of my father Gulshan Kumarji and under the able guidance of Bhatt (Mahesh) saab and the dynamic pre-release efforts of my T-Series team in a limited period of three weeks, Aashiqui 2 has become a new landmark film with relatively new faces in the 100th year of Indian cinema,” said Kumar.
With a budget of Rs 10 crore and Rs 8 crore for print and publicity respectively, the Mohit Suri film has collected Rs 75 crore nett and Rs 100 crore gross as per trade figures. “In the 100th year of Indian cinema, Aashiqui 2 a 9 crore film has soared into the 100 crore universe,” Mahesh Bhatt tweeted.
Many congratulations to the team and hope they have many more successes in the months ahead!

Chhanchhan video: Bharti Singh to dance at Chhanchhan and Manav’s engagement

Popular comedian Bharti Singh, who won the hearts of many with her dance moves in the fifth season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, is set to entertain viewers with her special dance item in Sony TV’s Chhanchhan

The latest track in the daily soap will showcase Chhanchhan and Manav’s grand engagement ceremony.
Bharti who will be performing for the ceremony gives credit to choreographer Savio Barnes for her dancing skills. “Whenever it comes to dancing, there is only one name that I associate myself with and he is my choreographer Savio. He made a stiff person like me dance,” said the stand-up comedian.
In Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Savio was Bharti’s choreographer and they presented some of the most entertaining acts on the show. Even the judges of the show – choreographer Remo D’Souza, Karan Johar and Madhuri Dixit – lauded her for her dedication and hard work.
Bharti, 26, who weighs almost 85 kg, proved that weight cannot be a barrier to learning dance. “Whenever a person was told that he has to dance with me, that person got ‘scared’, but Savio has solved that problem. So, I would like to thank Savio. Where there is Savio, there can be no obstacle (in dance),” Bharti added.
Besides Bharti, the entire cast including Sanaya Irani, Farhan Khan and all the others will be seen dancing to the latest tunes of Bollywood.

 

Gautam Rode, Jennifer Winget to get intimate

New Delhi: Actors Gautam Rode and Jennifer Winget, the lead pair of ‘Saraswatichandra’, will be seen getting intimate on the TV show.

The show, produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, will feature an intense lovemaking scene soon, said a source.

“As part of the story, they (Gautam and Jennifer) will be sharing intimate moments. The scene has been very well shot,” added the source.

Gautam plays Saraswatichandra on the show, while Jennifer plays his love interest Kumud.


The show is the small screen adaptation of Govardhanram Madhavaram`s eponymous Gujarati novel.

The small screen has earlier also seen bold scenes. Actors Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar went up close and personal twice for their hit show ‘Bade Achhe Lagte Hain’.

 

 

`Lazy lad` of ‘Ghanchakkar’ goes to Hollywood

Mumbai: Actress Vidya Balan`s song ‘Lazy lad’ from her forthcoming movie ‘Ghanchakkar’ is being processed in Hollywood.

"It is true that Ghanchakkar`s third song `Lazy Lad`, which sees Vidya Balan describing the traits of men through Emraan Hashmi`s character in the film, has been sent to Hollywood. Work has been happening at the prestigious Duluxe studio where the song is being processed to make it look like a chic music video," a source confirmed the news.

"The song and music video is quirky, fun, colourful and it was important that it was processed at a world class studio for the video to have the right texture," the source added.

Directed by Rajkumar Gupta, ‘Ghanchakkar’ is set to release June 28.

 

Divya Dutta offered role in `24`?

Mumbai: Actress Divya Dutta was reportedly approached to be part of Hollywood television series ‘24’, but she couldn`t take up the offer due to prior commitments.

Divya was offered to play Anil Kapoor`s wife in the crime show and she hopes to get another opportunity to work with the actor in some other project soon.

Divya was last seen in recently released movie ‘Gippi’ and will now be seen in ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ and ‘Lootera’.
